• Smudge Sticks - Sage, Mugwort and Cedar – Small

A pack of three small smudge sticks - sage, mugwort and cedar. Size approximately 3-4 inches (8-9 cm) each.

Mugwort (Artemesia Vulgaris) also known as Black Sage, Croneswort, Wormwood or Herb of St. John grows and has long been used in the UK as well as being common over the grazed lands of the Western USA.  Believed to help dreams, journeying and ward of negative energies it is often used to help open access to other worlds and stimulate dreams and visions. The smoke is herbal and sweet but slightly less dense than Californian white sage.

White Sage is a herb used for cleansing and purifying, traditionally regarded as aiding people ‘open up’ to a great connection to the sacred world. Ideal for use in cleansing and clearing ceremonies for people, places and shamanic tools/objects as well as for being used as a smudge or carried to enhance a closer spiritual connection.

Cedar is used for cleansing on an emotional level and in Native American tradition for carrying prayers to the creator, banishing nightmares and releasing heavy negative emotional energies.

Juniper Ridge started at a farmers market in Berkeley, California in 1998. Everything they grow and make comes from the mountains or the deserts of western USA. All of their produce is sustainably and responsibly harvested from the wild and they never kill the plants they harvest, trimming sage at the green stem, above the woody section, meaning two or three new clusters appear the following year where they harvested one. Juniper Ridge donates 10% of their profits to defending western wildernesses.

Smudging - Light a flame to one end of the smudge stick, then blow it out and use the smoke. Can put out by stubbing in a bowl when finished (abalone shells are ideal for this).
