Ethically harvested fair-trade Palo Santo Wood Sticks (Holy Wood), sold by the oz (approx. 28 grams), which is usually 2-3 sticks. The sticks are about 11-13 cm in length and vary in width.
Palo Santo for Blessing and Purification. Used traditionally for centuries in Peru and Ecuador for spiritual ceremonies, the name Palo Santo in Spanish literally translates as ‘Holy Wood’. The properties of Palo Santo wood make it ideal for use in: the cleansing of places, people and objects; for clearing ceremonies and for before journeying, meditation or prayer. Burn as you would incense or smudge sticks - light, allow to burn momentarily, blow out flame and fan ember (may need to be re-lit) then 'smudge' the person, place or property with the smoke. The more the stick is lit, the easier it is to keep the ember going. Palo Santo has a delicate sweet, fresh and woody aroma.
These Palo Santo Wood Sticks are fair-trade from Northern Peru, re-packaged in Grand Mesa, Colorado by Fluorescent Ranch. All Fluorescent Ranch products are guaranteed ethically harvested and fair trade; harvested in a traditional manner, in an ecological and respectful way. Traditionally a Palo Santo tree lasts for around 80 years and the wood is only used once the tree has been dead for 4-10 years. All trees that have been used are harvested through a sustainable and natural process.
